Jordan defeats South Korea in a historic match in the semi-finals of the Asian Cup soccer
Jordan qualified for the Asian Cup final for the first time after defeating South Korea 2-0.
Jordan Yazan al-Naimat opened the scoring in the 53rd minute after shooting the ball over the goalkeeper.
Musa Al-Taamari doubled the score with a wonderful individual effort.
South Korea controlled the ball in the end, but it was not enough.
Even with one of the stars on the world stage up front, Son Heung-min, they were unable to break through Jordan’s goal.
Prior to the tournament, Jordan had never reached the semifinals. They have only reached the quarter-finals twice before this edition. Now, they have ousted one of the candidates.
Jordanian fans were dancing outside the stands and taking to the streets outside the stadium, chanting, “No, no, no, Asia, Jordan.”
