Israel bombs homes in central Gaza and kills several families Gaza News
With the expansion of the scope of the Israeli aggression on the central Gaza Strip, civilian casualties are increasing amid the bombing of residential homes in Deir al-Balah and the Zawaida refugee camp.
At least 15 civilians were killed in Israeli air strikes on homes housing four families on Thursday night. Dozens were injured and others remained under the rubble.
Somaya Ahmed, an elderly woman who was in the apartment building that was attacked in Deir al-Balah, said her family members were preparing for bed when the attack occurred around 10:30 p.m.
“My sister, her husband and her children were killed,” she said. “Many other children were stuck under furniture, screaming for help.”
“Below us there are two other families, they are all gone. Everyone is gone,” she added.
Paramedics were not able to recover the bodies and wounded until the morning. Ahmed said that dozens were taking shelter in the building, including relatives and friends who were displaced from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in the north.
“Our house there was destroyed. Our children were killed,” she said.
According to her, this is not the first time that Israeli forces have attacked the building’s surroundings. Ahmed said that before Wednesday night’s attack, several air strikes caused damage to windows and parts of the kitchen.
